Unicef NEXTGen London, Clerkenwell Boy and SUITCASE Magazine are teaming up for #CookForSyria, a month-long fundraising mission through food. Chefs, restaurants, bakeries and cafes, including Barrafina, Crosstown Doughnuts, Gunpowder and The Salt Yard Group have been asked to create a Syrian-inspired dish and donate a portion of the proceeds to Unicef UK’s Children of Syria Fund. The campaign launches with a charity banquet cooked up by Angela Hartnett, Fergus Henderson, José Pizarro, Nuno Mendes, Sami Tamimi and Yotam Ottolenghi at 180 The Strand, and there’ll also be one-off events hosted by Symmetry Breakfast, Honest Burgers, Arabica Bar & Kitchen, and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen throughout November. And with plenty of Syrian-inspired recipes coming from the likes of Anna Jones, Gizzi Erskine, Hemsley + Hemsley, and Lily Vanilli, you can get in on the action too.
