LDF: MINI LIVING “FORESTS”

mini-loti

For this year’s London Design Festival, MINI has teamed up with Asif Khan to create a series of public installations called MINI LIVING “Forests”. Based on the idea of “third places”, those outside of work and home, Khan, with the help of botanist Jin Ahn, has created three plant-filled spaces dotted around Shoreditch that you can visit to relax, socialise and flex your creative muscles.

The Relax space, at the junction of Old Street and Pitfield Street, is the place to escape, with a ‘Mindfulness App’ meditation podcast playing on headphones throughout the day and one-to-one meditation sessions from the founder of Mind app on 19th September. In Charles Square, the Create space has a flexible, co-working set-up, with Wallpaper hosting photography in architecture and design workshops on 20th September. The Connect space, next to Shoreditch Fire Station, features a long communal table, making it the ideal place to catch up with friends, and it’ll host two free supper clubs from Disappearing Dining Club on 21st September. You can even take some of the plants home with you to keep that green and serene feeling going even after the festival is over.
