Cocktail kings B.Y.O.C have set up shop in Soho and to make this joint extra special, they’ve teamed up with James Cochran, a former chef at The Ledbury, to create an intimate restaurant on the ground floor of their speakeasy. He’s cooking up a modern, sharing-style menu that celebrates the best of British…perfect for whether you’re in for a feast or for a quick bite before boozing.

The plates are just the right size, as well as being seriously stylish, so you could conceivably eat, and insta, your way through the entire menu. And it’s all so good you’ll probably want to. Highlights included crispy cauliflower with ras el hanout and raita; Cornish ray wing with hazelnuts, mussels and samphire; and Gloucester Old Spot pork belly, yogurt, broccoli and pine nuts, with seriously crispy crackling. Don’t miss the puds either, especially the elderflower, strawberries, pepper and meringue aka the dessert of dreams.

And the night need not end after dinner, as you can always nip upstairs, settle into one of their church pews and wait for the cocktails to start flowing…
