CHECKING IN: THE HILTON OPERA, PARIS

Getting to Paris is easier than getting to most places in the UK, so easy in fact that a guy working in a cafe (Eggs & Co) asked us if we had come over from London just for the breakfast. Once off that Eurostar, you are pretty much in the centre of a beautiful city, rich in style, art, architecture…you name it, Paris has it, with cheese on.

The classic Parisian elegance of the Hilton Opera is found a short train ride away from Gare du Nord station. It’s a mighty impressive building (aren’t they all) and it’s definitely on the upper scale of what the Hilton brand offers. Yes darling, through the revolving doors are people in uniforms who are there to make your stay an experience you’ll keep on coming back to. We found our executive double housed the biggest bed in the world (no seriously) and the newly revamped decor is more than easy on the eye. We weren’t in the hotel much but our mini style apartment was full of perks…having your own coffee machine for that early morning start, rain shower for making sure you’re clean all over, turn down service with mini chocolates and anything else you might need or want to know either on the phone or available in person.

Breakfast is held in Le Grand Salon – which as the name suggests is pretty grand, guests have access to a fitness room and those lucky enough to have their key cards open the gateway to the Executive Lounge can drink, eat and relax as they like. As a base, The Hilton Opera is in walking distance of some top must-sees on your hit list, like the Galeries Lafayette and the Louvre Museum.

Prices start from £173 per night, with a 25% discount for HHonors members as part of Hilton Worldwide’s global summer sale. Can’t go wrong really.
