cafes and restaurants open up in this city all the time, so we’ve seen most things when it comes to food. This might be a first though….a salad bar has opened in a phone box. The one in Bloomsbury Square, opposite number 43 to be precise. Every Tuesday and Wednesday Ben Spier, of Spier’s Salads, loads up the mini fridge inside the box with all his fresh ingredients, and sells a selection of five salads at lunchtime. The menu rotates often but it’s all super fresh and seasonal, and value for money, coming in at £4.25 to £7.50. Spier set up his box with the help of the Red Kiosk Company, which rents out phone boxes to businesses, and there are plenty of locations available if you wanted to get in on the action yourself.

Tues & Weds, 11.30am-14.30pm
Opposite 43 Bloomsbury Square, London, WC1A
