We might not go to the extremes as some do making BBQ’s out of shopping trollies or toilet bowls…or be able to beat the Russian’s record for the world’s longest BBQ, which involved a 350ft of fire, 250 skewers and 500 sausages, but we’ll give it a good go. From battling the wind and the rain to lighting a BBQ under an umbrella, there’s no doubt we are committed to making the most of the summer months. So we’ve teamed up with Aperol to help you find the perfect spot to kick back on a summer evening, including their own Aperol Spritz Terrazza. Up top at Bird of Smithfield, it’s running from from May through to August, inspired by the Terrazza Milano, with a host of talks and masterclasses throughout the summer from the likes of School of Life, Print Club, Soho Radio & Forza Win.
Of course as much as we’d love to run out the front door to enjoy an al fresco dinner everyday throughout the summer, it isn’t always that easy with only the lucky few Londoners having a garden. And we really don’t want to be the guy that was so desperate for BBQ, he set his sister’s living room on fire, so we’ve taken the weird and wonderful, the hidden and the open to create a list of our top BBQ and picnic spots in London Town. Because there’s not much better than an Aperol Spritz on a long summer’s day, it’s the ideal aperitif experience…so gather your friends, we’re heading out for the day.
