Miles Kane and Arctic Monkeys’ front man Alex Turner are inseparable, so it comes as no surprise that eight years since the release of The Last Shadow Puppets debut album, the pair have decided to hook up again. Developing their sound from melodramatic 60s pop, the new album ‘Everything You’ve Come to Expect’ has a much dreamier approach, taking inspiration from early 70s rock.
Backed with a harpsichord and with a hint of psychedelia, the title track ‘Everything You’ve Come to Expect’ demonstrates The Last Shadow Puppets softer side. Dark, yet honeyed this track is strangely captivating; inducing a sense of unease. It might not be what you expect, but hey it’s Turner and he’s trying to be sophisticated…
