There’s so many great neighbourhood restaurants in London, in our hood alone we’re lucky enough to have Prawn on The Lawn, Primeur, a banging little Thai joint Vang Thong, HASH E8 and Trullo. And, now South Londoners rejoice, Trullo has opened a new joint, Padella, serving hand rolled pasta dishes in Borough Market.

The menu is small and simple and the decor plays to that –  it’s more of a casual eating spot than somewhere you’d linger over a long lunch or dinner. We kicked off with the bruschetta with baked borlotti beans and salsa rossa and the creamy burrata with Tuscan olive oil from the antipasti section. We followed up with the pappardelle with 8-hour Dexter beef shin ragu which is one of the most popular dishes in sister site Trullo, and it’s easy to see why. Rich tomato sauce, super soft beef shin and fresh pasta – Mamma mia. There’s three desserts and at £4 each you might as well have them all. During our visit we had the almond and rhubarb and lemon tarts but the menu gets switched up frequently.

Great value grub made with love, Padella a great addition to any hood.
