REVIEW: HOLBORN DINING ROOM
Good news people…British brasserie, Holborn Dining Room has a new menu. Oh yes, with produce now coming via The Cornwall Project the restaurant will be switching up its menu more frequently depending on the deliveries that come in. Think slow cooked Sussex pork belly, white cabbage and smoked eel and fillet of cod served with Cornish bacon and braised lentils.
We went along to sample a few of the new additions (and some old classics too) starting with the scotch egg which also happened to be winner of the Scotch Egg Challenge 2015. This was followed with the perfectly cooked John Dory fillets with pink fir potato, roast cauliflower and sea vegetables and a hearty, rich Short Rib cottage pie. For dessert the Valrhona chocolate mouse with blood orange won us over whilst the steamed whiskey treacle sponge and custard wiped us out.
If you’re looking for comfort food with a modern twist served in rather plushy surrounds Holborn Dining ticks all the boxes.
