has SPRUNG in London and we’re all about bringing the outdoors inside, that’s right people fill your house with flowers. This week’s LDNERS are florist duo Princess & KO, who know a thing or two about how to be bloom-in marvellous. Meet Elias and David…

Where do you live in London and why?

E: I live in Bethnal Green. I love the parks and the diversity of the people. I also love the fact that I can walk down the street and see something new at every corner.

D: I live in Harringay. I adore that I can get easily into central London for the party scene, the museums and the theatre – however, I always love coming back to Green Lanes for the great kebabs.

Spring has sprung and so has your new company, can you tell us more about why you set up Princess and Ko?

We’d worked for various other florists around London and realised that often people weren’t getting what they asked for,  particular styles and measurements might be imposed on them. So Princess & Ko was born out of the idea to meet, fulfil and surpass our customers’ requirements. It’s about breaking free from the box and helping our clients realise their dream, whether it’s for a simple hand-tied bouquet or a wedding.

You clearly know your blooms but what tips can you give for our readers on how to make flowers at home last a little bit longer?

E: Give your flowers a fresh cut at the bottom of the stems every three days. You can also add ice cubes to the water to help them last longer.

Having dressed some pretty amazing weddings and venues in London, what trends are you predicting for this year?

D: Rustic look eucalyptus, three colours of roses, trailing ivy and rose petals everywhere. I believe the flower of this year is the cymbidium orchid.

E: I predict more structure. By that I mean, building trees indoors using branches and bark to create a natural element in any venue. However no wedding should be without its roses.

Finally, what would your perfect day in London be?

E: Spending a leisurely day at the park taking in its natural beauty with my girl, and then cooking for friends in the evening.

D: Waking up in the morning and knowing that I’m going to put a smile on someone’s face with some beautiful flowers.
