in the heart of Blackheath village, you’ll find Chapters all day dining. Serving up everything from brekkie through to dinner, coffee to cocktails and even the traditional afternoon tea, they’ve really covered all bases.

We popped in for dinner, starting with the baked Beetroot and Goat’s curd and the giant Ham Hock croquette with Avocado puree. No complaints here. When it came to mains we opted for the crispy Pork Belly with mash, Choucroutte and Apple puree and the tender roasted haunch of Venison served with Cabbage and Red wine jus. Desserts came in the form of a tangy lemon tart with raspberry sorbet and devilishly good melt in the middle chocolate pud.

Whilst the cooking might not be as creative or inventive as some of the restaurants in central London, the simple style and flavours make Chapters a good local option, should you ever find yourself in Blackheath. And no, you don’t need a visa…
