There’s
been a whole lot going on at the top end of Essex Road recently, with Sutton and Sons opening, The Hops and Glory getting a refurb, and Borough Wines opening any day. In amongst them, Salut! opened quietly just before Christmas, taking the place of 3 Course. Run by German brothers Martin and Christopher Lange, the menu draws inspiration from all over Europe, including their native Germany where their parents have a restaurant, to Denmark, France, and England where Christopher has worked over the last few years. They’ve bought all this together at Salut!, a casual stripped back space with wooden tables and an open kitchen. With a keen eye for beautiful, intricate presentations the menu includes starters such as King Crab with Watercress; Beef Tartar with fresh organic egg yolk; and Salad of Nordic Marinated Pork. From the mains, look out for Pan Fried Filet of Sea Bream with our Grandma’s Pomeranian Fish Potatoes; 45 Day Dry Aged Short Horn Beef Steak with glazed Kale and La Ratte Potatoes; and Slowly Fried Pork Belly glazed with Butter and selection of Onions.
[URIS id=61149]We’ll drink to that…Salut!
