Kitchen in St Katherine Docks is the most recent restaurant to open in Chef Tom Aikens little group. Like all his restaurants the emphasis is on locally sourced, seasonal produces and having the title of the youngest British chef ever to be awarded two Michelin stars, you are pretty much guaranteed to be on to something spesh.

Spicy crab cakes with cucumber & chilli salsa started us off, the fishy patty bursting with hints of spice. For mains, the 300g Sirloin steak on the bone was loaded with juicy flavours whist triple cooked truffle and parmesan chips were crack like addictive. Even though the steak was a damn fine choice, it was the chicken Schnitzel with confit cherry tomatoes and red pepper dressing that stole the show, crunchy breadcrumbs encasing tender chicken with a fresh sweet sauce to liven up the dish. For dessert the rich chocolate and peanut butter fondant with salted caramel ice cream didn’t let us down.

Tom’s Kitchen is British favourites and comfort food classics at their best. With their informal approach it’s plain sailing all the way. Defo worth a visit.
