Storms interviewed them this time last year: “Heavy guitars, sweet melodies, and contrasting dynamics in the songs innit!” They’ve been labelled post-grunge, they love old grunge. Let’s just say grunge, for grunge’s sake. Their new track Shame (available as a free download) has a vaguely unsettling video that features a parade of characters acting out their various degrees of personal shame. It’s monochrome with splashes of colour a la Sin City and plays out a strange tableaux. It’s a little hard to sustain as a theme, but the tune itself propels it all along nicely until the bitter, sad end.
said it best themselves when weQuiet/loud/quiet…a woo-woo chorus and upbeat bassline gives it a skewered 50’s ballad feel. More hooks than Peter Hook at a family reunion, all add up to an end-of-night tune that will leave you barking ‘SHAME’ for ages. Just don’t do it on the walk/cab/nightbus home. People will stare.
