the quiet backstreets of Brixton, in an airy Victorian hayloft lies a British cooking experience. The five course tasting menu at Beehive Place exists for only a week, and every menu is produced by chef Sam Hodges of Soho House and St John. Ingredients come from small, independent suppliers whilst every dish tells a story about a place and the seasons. On our menu, was a Clarence Court pheasant’s egg on sourdough from the E5 Bakehouse in London Fields alongside dehydrated tomatoes from the Isle of Wight, but the absolute winner had to be the main of roast breast of Wooley Park Farm guinea fowl served with ‘A E’ asparagus and Norfolkian pea shoots that Kate and Wills dined on at the Royal Wedding banquet don’t you know!

After all that, we got on the cocktails which are all made from local ingredients and change as much as the food menu does, choosing the Brixton Beehive Club made with East London dry gin, heather honey with burnt Earl Grey sugar around the top. YUM.
