is dead. Viva la revolution! Russell Brand has set upon his latest venture, The Trew Era Cafe. The Hackney based hot spot opened its doors to the public last Thursday with the debut tweet ‘people in abstinence based recovery and nutters and revolutionaries especially welcome.’

In ‘trew’ activist Brand fashion, the Cafe is 100% funded by profits made from his book Revolution and will employ recovering drug addicts. It’s located on the New Era estate, whose residents faced eviction last year after statements of trebling rent. Brand came to the rescue and helped organise protests to help secure their homes.
