second instalment from upcoming album “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” sees a more subdued take on Ms.Welch’s brand of theatrical pop with an rich tapestry of introspective lyrics and simple melodies creating an almost etheral atmosphere. The similarly raw video carries the song beautifully- elegant and never exessive, we see a melancholic Florence walking through the rainy backdrop inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. Although clearly not as disco friendly as her previous work, ‘St.Jude’ is breathtaking and the minimalist approach suits Florence’s voice perfectly.

From ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’ out June 1st
