AND THE DIAMONDS | FORGET

The fifth track to be released from her forthcoming third album, Forget won’t win the Welsh born singer any new fans. However, for those already under her spell it does offer the same charm, undeniably addictive hooks and lyrical quirks that Catherine Zi…sorry, Marina, has become synonymous with us ever since she burst onto the scene with Mowgli’s Road back in 2010.

WYLDEST | CRUEL DUSK

A gorgeously crafted dream-pop number, Cruel Dusk’s effortless folk-vibe is tinged with an almost unnerving edge that adds an intriguing sense of darkness to what is otherwise a shimmering, intoxicating track from Wyldest.

BLACK HONEY | MADONNA

Not that we’re surprised, but Brighton-based band Black Honey have managed to provide us with yet another effortlessly cool track this week. Madonna pulls influence from some of the classic rock anthems of the past, throws in a little of Garbage front-woman Shirley Manson’s vocal delivery and adds a touch of Sky Ferreira’s indie sensibility to create an irresistible pop-rock track with a bridge that is to die for.

GENGAHR | SHE’S A WITCH

Released later this month (March 16), She’s A Witch is a joyously anthemic track packed full of fluttering guitars that sees the band singing about a girl that could either “sink or fly.” Somehow we’ve got a feeling Gengahr have the latter to look forward to in 2015, if this is anything to go by. Also, if we’re honest, it’s hard to not appreciate a track that utilizes a male falsetto with such grace and effect.

SAUNA YOUTH | TRANSMITTERS

A rebelliously upbeat track to end this week’s list on, Transmitters is a brash, raucous slice of rock ‘n roll from promising indie foursome Sauna Youth. Their new album ‘Distractions’ is released on 8th June via Upset The Rhythm.
