on Kew Green is the neighbourhood restaurant everyone wants in their hood. Modern European food but with the odd Swedish nod courtesy of owner & chef, Jonas Karlsson, Linnea keeps things simple, understated and damn tasty.

Before opening Linnea, Karlsson was Head Chef at Harvey Nichol’s Fifth Floor restaurant which is clear from his style, presentation and simplistic approach: impeccable, flawless and totally instagrammable.

We chose a selection of standout dishes: the grilled river trout with a sweet potato & mango salsa and the marinated “gravad” beef to start were light but full of flavour; calves liver with creamy mash and corn-fed chicken with parsnips for the main but it was the puddings that well and truly polished things off- pistachio cake with milk ice cream and a set chocolate cream mousse with hazelnut and pumpkin seed twists….delish!

So, if you ever find yourselves in Kew be sure to do the following: buy some flowers, enjoy a jaunt around the Gardens, book a meal in at Linnea and then roll yourself out to lie/stroll on the Green. Job well done.
