album, new tune, same old lupine charmer, Gaz Coombes. The voice still has a slight feminine quality to it, he’s still rocking the sideburns, but hang on…post-Supergrass and he’s still steadily honing and refining his craft.

20/20, shot live at 229 London, has an infectious beauty to it. Packed with dense lyrical imagery, a propulsive rhythm section and building to a soul stirring crescendo, this writer cynically sneered at first listen, as ‘ok, but sounds like he’s doing a Thom Yorke’…the wibbly electronics, fragile/strong voice, broken beat, slightly muffled lyrics. However, due to repeated listens, it is a rarity. It stands up and has legs. Just one thing though, how do you ‘take a hurricane for you?’ Hmm, meteorological magic is afoot.
