week’s Londoner is owner of the The General’s Barbershop in Netil Market, London Fields. Meet Lee Wells…lets dive on in.

Tell us where you live in London and what you love about the area?

I’m currently living in Bow in East London. Being situated by right next to Victoria Park and easy access to the canal makes it a great place to live along with local pubs such as The Moorgan Arms and The Lord Tredegar give you a sense of being in a small community.

Regular readers will know you as The General’s Barbershop…how did you first get into this and what’s been some of you’re most memorable things to date?

Being a barber for over 14 years now I have been involved in many different aspects of the industry. Having worked on photo shoots, London Fashion Week, at festivals and having oscar winning celebrity clientele I now wanted to set up a pop up barbershop inspired from my time working across India.

We know you are soon to start on your very own home brew, any more news on that and while we’re at it, where are your favourite drinking dens?

At The General’s Barbershop you get a great haircut within a relaxed barbershop environment with a home brewed beer thrown in for good measure. The current brew aka ‘the mullet’ is a sweet IPA brewed and bottled by my very own hands. It may ever go to rival by current drinking dens at Plato and Mother Kellys but I’ll let you be the judge.

We’ve just passed Movember…but what top tips would you recommend for the movement?

There’s a good chance that some of you may be indeed dyer need of a fix up. Always do this with scissors to achieve the desired results. We were giving free moustache trims here at The General’s Barbershop throughout November for those who are raising money for such a important charity.

What would be your perfect day in London?

My perfect day in London would be to start with a walk through Victoria Park with my dog then heading over to The Wapping Project for a spot of breakfast. Having eaten I would have a coffee around Broadway Market the head up to The Union Chapel to catch a gig. Finishing off with a bite to eat at Dishoom in Shoreditch for a indian curry. Perfect!
