Fish and Chip Shop in Islington now has a brother, located in the city just two minutes from Liverpool Street station. Just like the original the new joint specialises in Fish & Chips (the clue’s in the name!).

We started with the seared scallops, four juicy scallops cooked perfectly and drizzled in a delicate sauce with golden raisins and creamed cauliflower.

We followed with the breaded Scottish scampi tails, battered Cod, chips, battered “wally – that’s gherkin to you and me – curry sauce, mushy peas and spicy tartar sauce. Whilst the food is mostly fried it’s anything but greasy and definitely veers more to the “posh” fish and chips category.

The Knickerbocker glory finished us off, a tall glass filled with fruit, jelly, ice-cream and cream. If you’re looking for some solid comfort grub The Fish & Chip Shop ticks all the boxes.
