of Portugal is a series of events, wine tastings and dinners running from now until March 2015 that aims to showcase the best of Portuguese culture in good old London. We went down to one of the first events at Murano for a special lunch cooked by Angela Hartnett, Nigel Haworth and Benoit Sinthon (repping for Portugal) with each of the four courses being matched with a different Portuguese wine.

As you might expect with three Michelin-starred chefs in the kitchen, the menu was pretty damn special, from the mini truffle arancini starters to the chocolate, banana and passion fruit dessert served with a sweet Madeira wine. In between, Nigel Haworth served smoked trout with a Esporao Reserva white wine from Alentejo; Angela Hartnett gave us amazing pheasant stuffed ravioli with shaved black truffle; and Benoit Sinthon produced a main course of Venison with figs, quince pata negra and wild mushrooms.
