OXO TOWER: BUILDING SITE DINING

most restaurants have building works going on, they do what they can to carry on as normal, ignoring the drills, dust and builders. Well the OXO Tower restaurant has taken an altogether different approach by positively embracing the current works with a building site-themed pop up.

There’s waiters in high vis jackets, hard hats on the walls and 80’s cheesy music playing from old battered radios. Tablecloths are out in favour of brown paper and there’s even bricks on the table. We kid you not.

The best part, though, is that the special menu on offer costs just £30 so this is a great chance to eat at OXO for a snip of the usual price. The menu includes fragrant butternut squash soup with pumpkin ravioli and truffle mascarpone; sea bass with purple potato mash (YES purple mash potato!) and kaffir lime escabeche; and retro desserts like walnut tart and trifle.
