You cannot move for new Ramen openings in London these days, and United Ramen is the latest addition to the scene. Located on Upper Street, it’s gone for a bit more of a modern café look than the traditional Kanada Ya and is decked out with a bright orange and purple colour scheme throughout, even down to the orange chopsticks!
The menu also has some more ‘out there’ ramen dishes such as the British Bulldog – beef and chicken bone soup, with roast beef, wasabi gravy and even mini Yorkshire puddings! Tempting, but as the ‘bulldog’ is only available on weekends, we went the more traditional route and with a lovely chashu pork miso ramen, topped with thick slices of pork and a hard-boiled egg. The pork gyoza from the side dishes also come highly recommended.
