Glad you asked, well Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles have teamed up with LateRooms.com to create, yep you guessed it, Hotel VW California, which they have labeled ‘Britain’s most adventurous holiday experience yet’.

Designed to make British families embrace adventure holidaying they have launched Hotel VW California in Henley-on-Thames where guests can sleep on the island made famous by the Henley Royal Regatta and its ornamental folly for a very reasonable £35 per night.

The VW’s sleep 4 adults and contains a pop-up roof, kitchen with fridge, twin-burner cooker and sink with running water, wood-trimmed cupboards and drawers. There’s blinds to block out the sun as well as any peeping eyes, and an awning plus table and chairs will make sitting outside at sunset pretty damn special.

If you think of this as hiring a private island for a night, £35 aint bad is it. And if you’re thinking where can you keep your valuables, VW’s don’t have a safe…you’re right they don’t, but they do have a lockable glove compartment! You also get free wifi, iPod docking, ‘Climatronic’ three-zone automatic air-conditioning, heated seats and programmable central heating.
