Social has a new menu and it’s all about The Grill. Based around the Josper Grill, the menu features a selection of dishes from land and sea, with an emphasis on dishes you’d usually find outside on the barbie.

We went along to sample some of the new dishes with matching wines, kicking things off with a light English asparagus, white stilton salad with garlic dressing and Groot Constantia Sauvignon Blanc wine. Other highlights included the Black pudding Scotch egg with real ale ketchup matched with a San Marzano, Primitivo II Pumo.

The speciality dish, named Land and Sea is made up of a steak, battered King Prawns and garlic snails matched to a Hess, Artezin Mendocino Zinfandel. The dessert though, was perhaps our favourite combo of the night, Reform mess; a mixture of meringue, banana, hazelnut and brandy served with the sweet Carlo Pellegrino from Sicily. Mamma mia!

So the next time your having a BBQ and it starts to rain, you know where to go to shelter…
