showbiz journo and blogger of ShowbizSludge.com this weeks LDNER is no stranger of chatting to celeb or two when getting the goss and also run’s some equaly exciting nights called ‘Tonight Matthew…’ we’ll let her explain that for you. Meet Lisa Higgins

Tell us where you live in London and what you love about it?

Hackney, just a stone’s throw from Victoria Park, which is full of hipsters, dogs that look like hipsters and the occasional flasher. I love the impromptu hippy parties that crop up on the Lea Valley canal (apart from that one where the man started waving his John Thomas around in the camp fire), the fact that everyone is a little bit mental and my garden.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a freelance showbiz writer which means I’ve been drinking with Liam Gallagher and have held hands with Lionel Blair. Come follow me.

Lisa3So when you are not doing Tonight Mathew where do you like to go out?

The George Tavern in Stepney is a treasure trove of a pub slash music venue. At The Birdcage on Colombia Road you can watch old men in army uniforms do karaoke. London Warehouse parties tend to throw some good stuff around Hackney Wick. And I’ve lost my mind (in a good way) at The New Empowering Church in London Fields.

We see you’ve met one or two celebs, where are good places to spot an A lister?

Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair, and if you can get in, the Groucho club, Soho, is a goldmine. Otherwise you might find a suspicious-looking T4 presenter at 4am in The Dolphin on Mare Street.

What would your perfect day in London be?

Eating a burrito at Machete in Victoria Park village, playing with the guinea pigs at Spitalfield’s City Farm where I volunteer, finding the perfect spandex catsuit in the vintage shops on Brick Lane and then dancing till I’m silly at my own clubnight Tonight Matthew Dance Party.
