you haven’t heard of Chiltern Firehouse there’s a good chance you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last few months. The hotel is Andre Balaz’s new venture and in the kitchen you’ll find Nuno Mendes. Located in Marylebone in an old fire station – yes those are the original fire poles and no it’s not acceptable to slide down them!

There’s a huge hype surrounding the restaurant and we can confirm it’s well worth the hype. We recently managed to get a rezzie after hearing rumours of a 3 month waiting list and were given a seat at the kitchen counter overlooking the team of chefs manically creating dishes like food was going out of fashion.

We tried (and loved) the bite size crab donuts and crispy fried chicken from the snacks menu, the zesty salmon ceviche for starters and the juicy, chargrilled Iberico pork which was stunning. To finish we indulged in the rhubarb sundae which really did finish us off. The cocktail menu is bang on trend, the design is stunning and service is incredible. Seriously guys, get yourselves on that wait list pronto.
