With only one month left until all music-lovers invade the streets of Brighton in search of their favourite up and coming bands, it’s time to have a cheeky look into The Great Escape’s full announcement.
The 8th to the 10th of May will see over 400 artists spanning across more than 35 venues in the humble seaside town but this year, you’ve got no need to worry about running round with a beer in one hand and a map in the other because the exclusive gig planner has got you covered.
Whether it’s Example’s chart-topping tunes or Kelis’ milkshakes that are bringing you to the festival, there’s loads to be excited about. Thursday kicks off with the indie-pop sounds of Circa Waves and the epic folk-rock of The Districts but make sure you have time to throw some shapes to Beaty Heart’s new belter, ‘Banana Bread’.
If your hangover isn’t too bad on Friday, you’re in for a treat with Wild Beasts taking on the Brighton Dome while Telegram, Superfood, Femme and Fat White Family will be putting on crazy sets elsewhere. But before you set off home on Saturday, make sure you don’t miss talented B-Town boys JAWS, the grunge of Girl Band or the atmospheric arrangements of Antimatter People.
And if all these unreal artists aren’t enough to get you involved, there’ll be insightful industry industry talks and panel debates, secrets shows and pop-up artists… you name it, they’ve got it!
