The people behind the Experiential Group have opened a new joint only this time it’s all about the vino. Compagnie Des Vins Surnaturels is located in the heart of Covent Garden, in the pretty, little Neal’s Yard. The wine bar, set across two floors has low lighting, intimate tables and serves over 400 wines from around the globe.
Compagnie Des Vins Surnaturels also serves food which can be matched with the wines by Julia, the sommelier who also happens to be very French. We started with a dry glass of rose fizz which was matched with a creamy burrata cheese with pomegranate and nuts. This was followed by a cheese, ham and truffle toasty with poached quails egg and a white wine.
We then had a shot at the vino challenge where drinkers are served a ‘mystery wine’ for £9 and then asked to guess which one it is on the menu from the bottles priced from approx £30 – £90. If you guess right – we didn’t – you win a bottle of the said plonk. Oooo la la!
Compagnie Des Vins Surnaturels is a great addition to the Covent Garden drinking scene, it’ll definitely impress the misses that’s for sure. Lets just hope they sort out the music soundtrack soon, because that needs so french loving too.
