On Saturday 12th October Southbank will be taking a blast from the past, holding London’s very first Vintage Car boot sale. 70 retro cars will assemble along the river front, between the Queens walk, Hungford Bridge and Jubilee Garden, all to sell the finest vintage goods including fashion, home ware and pop culture memorabilia. If you are a fan of classic cars, then this is definitely for you, with a collections of vehicles of all shapes and sizes – from VW campervans to Aston Martin DB4’s.
There will also be grub from Engine, B.O.B. Lobster and Bleeker Street Burgers. You won’t go thirsty either, with Beetle Juice transporting their mobile cocktail bar on site. Even the music is inspired by the boot sale, with Britain’s music experience “Traffic Jam” showcasing a collection of music influenced by Lord Kitchener’s 1950s calypso classic London is the place for me. Vintage DJ’s will also be playing vinyl from the top of an open air London Routemaster and between sets you can try your hand at playing some of the instruments including a ukulele.
Entry to the Classic Car boot sale is 3 quid and tickets can be bought from Southbank Centre on the day of the event.
