saying goes that if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. And if there is one thing we’ll stand for, it’s our right to dance badly to Rihanna on Friday nights, see amazing live music on Saturday and watch Tom Hanks movies and eat pizza on Sundays. And our right to do all of these things at beloved Hoxton pub, The Macbeth.

But our rights are in danger following an application to surround the venue with flats which would threaten their noise level allowances. Fortunately, we’re not the only one getting their knickers in a knot about this, our friends at Cherry Cola are hosting a series of live gigs to raise awareness for the cause and showcase the terrific live music that The Macbeth so tirelessly supports.

Next weeks ‘Save the Macbeth’ will feature kick-arse bands like Splashh, Is Tropical and Gallows. They join the long list of bands who have played there over it’s 150 year history including of The XX, Florence and the Machine and Pete Doherty. And the long list of Londoners who have woken up with vague memories of an epic night spent stumbling between The Macbeth attic and gallery.
