Whyte and Brown do only two things…chicken and eggs, but boy do they get creative. So which came first, chicken or the egg…well we don’t know but at Whyte and Brown you get to decide.
Located in Kingly Court, it’s tucked away behind Carnaby Street, a location which always makes us feel a bit like tourists on our jollies! So with chicken and eggs on the menu we dived in. Half a dozen croquette balls won us over for starters punching a solid uppercut of taste into the palette there with shredded chicken and pancetta (hey that’s not chicken!), speckled with chives, lemon & melted béchamel. Winning! Stick with these and you won’t go wrong, don’t get distracted by the chicken sticks unless you’re a fan of the nuggets…
Over on the main dishes menu there is an awful lot going on and it all sounds mother clucking brilliant. The Chicken-Leek Burger for example, a burger made with minced thigh meat mixed with sautéed leek and spring onion, topped with grilled streaky bacon, Gruyère cheese, crisp lettuce & beef tomato all in brioche bun, it’s a lean, mean tasting chicken machine. Admittedly a workout to finish we’re a sucker for punishment and will be back for more.

The Pulled Chicken Bap of roasted shredded chicken drenched in a smoky barbecue sauce egg-celled itself, we were beat…no room for dessert. An egg-cellent list of beers live here to, all of which have quirky names. Ask your waiter for one that meet your needs. There more to chicken and eggs than meets the eye…
