in the know will recognise Daniel Galvin as hairdresser to the stars – his clients have included everyone from Twiggy to Lady Diana. The flagship salon is located in the Marylebone but there is also another small branch within The Corinthia hotel. We went along to the main salon to have our unruly mop tamed by the hands of James Galvin, who as the name might suggest is actually Daniel’s son.

The spacious salon is clean and bright and as well as your usual cutting stations it also features a cafe bar which serves food and drinks for those ladies who like to spend the day in the salon – as you do. Once James had given us a consultation we were shampooed, rinsed and massaged before being lead back to the chair so that his work could begin.

After the cut it was on to the blow dry and we’re happy to report that the end result was exactly what we had asked for. Full marks here as all to often when we’ve asked for our hair to be dried messy we’ve ended up with a wiry 90’s looking perm – not good. Instead we were left with shiny, slick new bangs which rocked, so much so that our colleague booked in the very next day with James.

Up there with the best haircuts we’ve ever had…
