is a modern hair salon for men and women housed in the backstreets of Shoreditch. Brought to you by Yuka Ito and Lorenzo Comparelli who set up shop together after meeting at Toni & Guy. Kaizo pride themselves in education and really put the effort into developing their staff creatively working in partnership with Bumble and Bumble.

It was nice to know we were in safe, exciting and creative hands on our recent visit. The salon isn’t the suped up Shoredarian hangout that we imagined, it’s actually pretty timid, no Nathan Barly dot cocking his website at you, it’s approachable and welcoming as are the staff. It’s nice to see young people taking control, they understand trends, they get hair is part of your image and understand the need to meet your expectations. We’re given a run through of what was going to happen based on our needs and sent for a shampoo and head massage. Try to stay wake, try to stay awake, try to stay awake.

The snipping takes place and we’re talking through past haircuts, what was good and what was bad, this is all reassuring stuff. After a quick spray of Sea Spray we’re good to go and pleased with the results – we could stop traffic and not just with our bad bike riding. Kaizo knows what it’s doing and is doing it well. Young creative people with skill and understanding and at £35 a pop you can be confident your money is well spent.
