As East Londoners it wasn’t long before we were consumed by the force of the bicycle. Whether you use it for its purpose, have it as a fashion accessory or push it through parks (never understood that one) your bike becomes an extension of yourself. When we got wind of Mango, the company which allows you to create your very own bespoke bicycle (without trawling gumtree for parts or getting your hands oily) we couldn’t wait to design our own bad boy.
Mango was made by two housemates, Ben and Jezz during their time at University who were looking for a way of getting in and out of Uni on bikes that worked, looked good and didn’t cost an arm and leg. And so, they came up with Mango Bikes which allows you to design your own model with almost limitless colour and component combinations. Set it all up on the screen in front of you, through the various stages of the build and then ping, your order will be put through. You can even decide when to pay there and then or later. But the best bit? Having your very own bike which no-one else has – there is nothing worse than pulling up at the traffic lights to find Jo public on your right has the same wheels – NOTHING worse!
